This Sunday I woke up super early to make buttered biscuits. They were really simple to make and tasted really good, but they did not look the way I wanted them to. For everything I made today i'll list all the ingredients. I'd also like to say that I researched a whole bunch of recipes and kind of mixed and matched and added a sprinkle of Chubs to them. Here are the ingredients:
- 2 sticks of regular butter (use unsalted if you want)
- 5 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 5 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 1 and 1/2 cup of milk
- Small bowl with 1 beaten egg and 2 teaspoons of melted butter to brush on top of the biscuits
In a large bowl, I put in all the flour and then added in the butter. To make it easier, I cut up the butter into little slices. Get in there and start combining the mixture. Then add in the white sugar and the baking powder. Combine it well again. Finally add in the eggs and cold milk. Now, I know some of you are savages so just combine it once more with your hands. If you haven't reached savage level yet like me, just use a fork. Once you've mixed that all well, it should be sticky and it should not look like a ball yet. On a floured surface, place the biscuit mixture and begin to knead the dough. Once you have a ball, use a rolling pin or for some of you alcoholics, a wine bottle and start rolling it out. I rolled it out to half an inch but if you want it thinner or thicker, go ahead. Now you are ready to cut it out. If you have a biscuit cutter, great. If you are like me and don't own one, do like my avo (grandma) and improvise. So in this case I used a coffee mug. If you have some cookie cutters in the shape of Christmas trees or hearts, go ahead and use those. At this point, you should place the biscuits on a greased tray of any kind. I used a pizza tray, don't judge me. With that egg and butter mixture, brush that on top and if you want on the bottom of the biscuits. I just did the one side. Now put them into a 400 C preheated oven for about 15-17 minutes or until Diego colored. Just kidding, just until golden brown.

That is what the end product looked like. Like I said, they tasted really good but I did not want them to look like that. I wanted them to look something like a hockey puck. It's no big deal, they kind of remind me of myself. Round and squishy in the middle. Anyways, after comparing myself to a biscuit, I'm going to end this post and write the next one because I don't want to mix them both into one.
